Document scanner
It records everything.
What it does
- Scan with Apple’s document camera, or import from Photos and Files (images and PDFs)
- It finds the page corners by itself; you adjust them with 8 handles and a magnifier, and it straightens the perspective
- Dewarp for curved pages
- Colour and brightness (original, enhanced, grey, black and white) and page size, with ready-made and your own sizes
- Erase parts of the page, and erase fingers that show in the photo
- Sign and annotate with pen, highlighter and text; your signatures stay on your device
- The text of the page and translation right on the page, with Apple’s framework, on your device
- Share as PDF or image, in three sizes; the original photos are kept and every change can be undone
- Folders and tags for your documents, with rename and move

The name
Named after Argus Panoptes, the giant with a hundred eyes.
The figure behind the name
Argus Panoptes (“the all-seeing”) was a giant with many eyes, a hundred according to tradition. Hera set him to guard Io, but Hermes lulled him to sleep with music and killed him, and the myth says Hera placed his eyes on the peacock’s tail. Argus “sees” every page and turns it into a digital one.
