Terms of Service

App: Apollo · Last updated: 29 July 2026

By using Apollo you accept the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What the app is

Apollo is a viewer and organiser for photos and videos you already keep in your own cloud (pCloud) or in your Photos library (iCloud Photos). It shows a timeline, albums by year, a location map and search, by reading your files' metadata. It is not a storage service and it does not replace your backups.

The app modifies your files. When you correct a date or location and ask for it to be written into the files, when you crop or apply filters to a photo, or when you trim and merge videos, the original file in the cloud is replaced. Deleting from the app is a permanent deletion from the cloud. There is no trash inside the app. Keep backups before performing bulk operations.

2. The cloud accounts are yours

You connect your own accounts and you are responsible for them, for their content and for the rights over that content. Use of each service is also governed by its own terms: pCloud, Apple iCloud. We do not guarantee the availability, speed or continued operation of those services. If a provider changes or discontinues its API, the corresponding feature may stop working without notice.

3. Dates and locations

The app tries to find the real capture date by reading the files' EXIF, the file name and the year folder. When those are missing or wrong, the date shown is an estimate. The same applies to the "estimate location from nearby shots" feature, which borrows coordinates from photos taken close in time. Estimates are marked separately inside the app and you can confirm or undo them. Do not treat them as evidence.

4. Family mode

If you enable it, the app writes settings files inside the shared pCloud folder, and those files include capture dates and GPS coordinates of your photos. Anyone with access to that folder can read them. It is your responsibility to enable the feature only in folders you share with people you trust. See also the Privacy Policy, section 8.

5. Data usage and battery

EXIF reading and syncing download data from your cloud. The app tries to download only the beginning of each file, but some files require a full download. The "WiFi only" switch is on by default. Controlling your data usage and connection costs is your responsibility. We are not liable for mobile data charges or for exceeding your provider's storage quota.

6. Your data is your responsibility

The local index is just a working copy. We keep no backups and we cannot recover anything if something is lost or deleted. Make sure you have working backups of your photos, independently of this app.

7. Permitted use

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

8. Intellectual property

The code, design, graphics and texts of the app belong to Christos Dimakis. Your photos and videos remain exclusively yours. We acquire no rights over them. The cloud providers' trademarks belong to their owners and are used for identification only.

9. No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will run uninterrupted or error free, that it will correctly read every file format, or that it will remain compatible with every future version of iOS or macOS.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, nor for loss or corruption of photos, videos or metadata arising from the use of the editing, metadata writing or deletion features, from an error or outage at the cloud provider, or from a network interruption during upload.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by consumer protection law, nor excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Greek law. As a consumer you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

12. App Store

Distribution takes place through the App Store and is also subject to Apple's Terms. Apple bears no responsibility for the app and no support obligation.
